Well our weather has finally turned to Winter, we have high winds and snow. What better time than today to start planning what to plant this spring? One of the things I enjoy about this time of year is the garden catalogs that start to come in the mail, it really helps with the Winter dull drums. If you want to start planning your garden you can request quite a few catalogs free to get some ideas and see what will grow in your area, its also a great way to comparison shop, there can be quite a difference in price between suppliers. Also, if you don't mind a slight difference in plants you may be able to find a great deal as well, for example, if you don't have your heart set on pink roses you may be able to find a sale on red ones at another place. ReplyDeleteAndrea they were thinking that at one point but we are going to be in the teens tomorrow with more snow expected. Hard to think about planting but if I don't start now I will be left with what ever is left at the green house in the spring, its like a mad dash living up here. ;) Hope you enjoyed your weekend.

I love this time of year when all the vegetable starts begin to appear in the markets. (I live in CA). I usually buy the starts but I might try seeds or maybe a combination this year. Nothing pleases me more than going out to the garden and cooking and eating what I bring inside. I just discovered this great book, btw, called Cook, Grow, Eat that instructs on how to plant and includes recipes. Nice post!
