Saturday Sojourn...

BRANSON MISSOURI

Scenic Branson, Missouri is the perfect spring break destination!  A while back my boss had gone to Branson and I just didn't get it, what the heck could there possibly be to do there I asked him, boy was I in for a shock!!  He brought back pictures of all sorts of great things, concerts they went to, golfing, wonderful restaurants, I was shocked.  So here it is Spring break and I was trying to think of things that are a little different for my readers.

You have heard me talk about earning reward points towards your hotels before, well here is a perfect opportunity.  Book your hotel and earn HHonors points with the  Hilton Promenade or the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel.  Hilton offers a few really nice package deals, the Bed and Breakfast package is nice for the person who wants a little extra relaxation, the romance package for the couple looking for a getaway, or to make the most effective use of your budget check out the plan ahead package and save up to 20% on your stay.  Plus, on top of earning the HHonors points you can use your AAA membership for a discount.  Besides the deals offered by Hilton, both the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel are offering packages that include two adult tickets and two children’s tickets (ages 4 to 11) for two full days of fun at Silvery Dollar City. It also includes a $25 food and beverage voucher for Level 2 Steakhouse located on the second floor of the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. This two-night, three-day package starts at $455.00 plus tax. It’s just another way Hilton is making it more affordable to travel.

The Hilton Branson Convention Center is located in Historic Downtown Branson, across the street from Branson Landing and Lake Taneycomo.  They also have a beautiful indoor outdoor pool, a stunning feature making it fun to get your morning swim in before you head out for your day, or relax for the afternoon and and enjoy a cocktail or two at the pool side bar.  The restaurant in the hotel is the Level 2 Steak House which features a 28 day aged beef that is brought in from Kansas City.

The Hilton Promenade is on Lake Taneycomo and across the street from the Branson Convention Center and just minutes from the 49 live theatres, Branson golf courses, Table Rock Lake, Silver Dollar City, outlet malls, Titanic Museums and many more Branson attractions.

Both hotels offer a wide range of amenities, but being a pet owner I was thrilled that they are both pet friendly and will allow a dog up to 75 pound with a $50.00 non-refundable pet service fee.  There are so few places that will allow large dogs, its nice that they understand a family often includes Spot, Fluffy or Fido.

If your looking for something to do the Branson Landing is just outside your door with tons of shopping and dining options including Busters Old Time Photos where you can get your picture taken in the 1800s, I always love these photos.  If you are into golf be sure to check out the Payne Stewart Golf Course, its just three miles away and was ranked one of the top 40 golf courses in 2009.  Feeling Lucky? If you get a hole in one they will put your name with the date, club and hole information on the web site so you can prove to your friends you really did make it!

Hope this gives you some great vacation ideas for Branson, its a fun place to visit with something for everyone to do.  What does it for me on vacation?  Well I love to meet new people and try new foods so I would say it would be the Third Annual Missouri Food and Wine Festival coming up April 29 - 30, great food, great wine and the beautiful Lennon Sisters, sounds like a slice of heaven to me!

As I say with all my be sure to check out the Entertainment book for the area, I was also able to find a great free coupon book from Dine Branson that features a ton of great coupons for area restaurants, BOGO show tickets, discounts at Silver Dollar City, Copy of All 3 major Branson Coupon Books, a Branson map, the Branson Vacation and Travel Guide and area brochures all mailed right to your house.

I am going to make the Saturday Sojourn a regular feature so I would love to hear what area you would love to see spotlighted with great deals, things to do, family fun and good food.  Hope you are all having a great weekend so far!

  1. Thanks for the comments on how you handle following a large number of blogs. I needed some tips. I've wondered about Branson myself. We usually end up in the Smoky Mountains for quick trips.
