Tastefully Tueday...

Fall is here and that means its apple season.  Today I am sharing a recipe that was in both my grandmother's and my mother's recipe boxes, both copies a little worse for the wear with years of use, and that can only mean one thing, its good!  We just made this last week and its gone already and we are talking about making more this week.

Apple Crunch

3 pounds of medium tart apples, (we use Harrelson) peeled and sliced
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar divided
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup cold butter
Mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, sprinkle on about 6 sliced apples in an 8" greased pan.
Mix as for pie crust (cut in) 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter.  When a crumbly texture sprinkle over apples.  Sprinkle the top with cinnamon.  Bake for 1 hour at 350.

Serve warm or cold, its great with vanilla, pecan or cinnamon ice cream.  If you like you can drizzle with carmel topping as well.
Today's no cook option comes from Boston Market, bring in the printable coupon to receive $3.00 off any $15.00 purchase, this offer is good until October 25, 2011.  The coupon can not be used with any other coupons or on gift cards.
Hope everyone is having a nice Tuesday!

I love to read your comments, but due to spamming I have had to turn on the word verification again. Sorry for the extra step.
