Thursday's picture perfect deal...

The picture...

This is proof that April showers really do bring May flowers.  This tulip was outside at the Como Park Conservatory in St. Paul when we visited earlier this month.  It was a cold rainy day and the flowers were closed up tight but still beautiful.

The deal...

Yankee Candle has a great sale going right now, buy one get one 1/2 off on the large Jars and Tumblers, this is good on any quantity of candles, so if you buy 8 then 4 would be half off.  Plus, you can combine the sale with either of the two available coupon codes, WVQJZ which is good until 5/19, will save you $10.00 off your total of $25.00 or more or XF115A2 which is good until 5/ and will get you $ 15.00 off of your total of $45.00 or more.  You can also print both the $10.00 off and the $15.00 off coupons to bring into a local Yankee Candle.  Also, if you spend over $30.00 you qualify for some discounted merchandise, I really liked the picnic basket, but there are also candle Illuma-Lids that are really nice.  As always they have the $5.00 flat rate shipping on all orders under $100.00, anything over $100.00 is free to ship.

I hope you are all having a nice week!

Thursdays picture perfect deal...

The picture...

This is an old school in Northern Wisconsin that the hubby and I used to pass quite frequently.  After we moved I realized how much I missed seeing it and when we were out driving that direction one day I decided to have him stop so I could get some pictures before it completely collapses.  I love old buildings and can just imagine what they would say if they could talk.

The deal...

Yankee Candle is having their $5.00 Presidents day sale.  You can get any small jar candle, a box of tea lights, a QuickScent Candle starter kit or an Electric air freshener kit for $5.00.  They also have a mix and match 2 for $5.00 section the antibacterial products and lip balm. Yankee Candle always has the $5.00 flat rate shipping but when you spend over $100 you will get free shipping.  If you have a Yankee Candle near where you live you can print a coupon for $10.00 off your $25.00 purchase, if you need to order on line you can get the same coupon by entering code TAHSV at the checkout.

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Thursdays picture perfect deal...

The picture...

This Summer a friend and I were in Northern Minnesota and one of the stores we were in had a beautiful display of blue glass in the front window and I loved the way it caught the light.

The deal...

Yankee Candle has a great sale going until November 28, 2010, buy two large jar candles and get two free!  Just use promo code CATH210 if you are shopping online.  They have $5.00 flat rate shipping for all orders under $100.00. They have another sale on their web site that offers buy one get one 1/2 off but this is only good for four of their holiday scents, also, if you put one of these candles in your basket for the buy 2 get 2 offer your coupon won't take anything off the sale candle.  I had to play around with my purchases to figure that out, in the end I purchased Winter Wonderland,  Eggnog and Mistletoe & Fig for the holidays and Banana Cream Pie for the pick-me-up I'll need in January when the cabin fever starts to set in and make me grumpy.  Remember, candles make great gifts as well so this may be just what you need to find a little something at a great price for a teacher, co-worker or friend.

Have a fantastic Friday everyone!

Thursdays picture perfect deal..

The picture...

Last Summer we had a baby Flycatcher parked on our railing by its mother, it stayed for quite awhile so I got some great shots of it.

The deal...

I love burning scented candles, its especially therapeutic in the middle of a long winter when I can smell things like fresh roses, cut grass, a mountain lake or Honeydew melon.  From now until October 3, 2010 Yankee Candle is having their buy 2 get one free sale with $5.00 flat rate shipping if you buy on line, if your order is over $100.00 they will wave the shipping fee.  If you have a Yankee Candle store near you then clip the coupon and bring it in with you when you shop, you can also shop by phone, just mention coupon code XG010A1 to the operator.  Recently my husband and I decided to try two of the new scents, Jelly Roll and Maple Pancake and we love them both, Yankee never ceases to amaze me with their scents.

I hope you are all having a great Thursday!

At home spa specials...

As Mothers day gets closer folks start looking for a nice pampering gift to give. One idea is to put together a nice spa day basket. This is something I have even done for myself and it is a wonderful revitalizer.

Light a great scented candle, (if you don't already have one Candles to my Door has a ton of different candles from Yankee, Colonial, Beanpod, Woodwick and more and they are all on sale), put on a relaxing sound track (here is a nice free one you can put on your iPod of nature from Musical Relaxation, its a little over 11 minutes so just put it on repeat) and draw a nice fragranced bath. Bath and Body Works has their buy two get one free sale going on both their Aromatherapy products and their True Blue Spa line. When its time to step out of the tub slip on a super plush micro fiber robe for the feel of luxury. Overstock has pink and blue in sizes L to 2X right now for $46.99.

Onto facial care; the Yes to Carrots line is very nice, offering items for Dry, oily and sensitive skin types, and its reasonably priced. Though you can buy direct, you can often find their products on sale at Target, Walgreens, Meijer and Drugstore.com (which has the carrot body spa kit on clearance right now for $12.99 with free shipping on orders over $25.00). What I truly love about this line is that I can read the ingredients list and know what everything is, they also feature a lot of organically grown ingredients.

Nails next; You should maintain regular gaps between applying nail polish allowing the nails to breathe and reducing the possibilities of drying and chipping, but if your planning a night out there are many nice polishes on the market. I usually look for Nail Lacquer, it is a little stronger than just polish and lasts longer, OPI is one of my very favorites and is sold in many salons, I keep an eye out for when my local salon has a sale. If you are prone to dry skin and hangnails the Burt's Bees Cuticle cream is fantastic, it leaves my hands feeling soft and smelling great. I apply this after any polish because it will cause the polish to flake if it is on the nail before hand. Burt's Bees has a sale right now on their Tips and Toes kit regularly $13.00, now its only $8.00. The kit has everything you need to not only take care of your cuticles but your hard working feet as well. They are also giving away a free lip balm with any purchase over $25.00, just use coupon code WELCOME at checkout.

Next comes the make up, when I am looking for new make up I always check the sale page at Sephora, they also throw in free samples and birthday goodies which is always a nice surprise when my package arrives. Another good site is Beauty.com they are offering $10.00 off your next purchase of $60.00 or more, this offer is good through 12/31/2010. The coupon site Red Plum has a printable coupon for $1.00 off any Rimmel London product which can be found at Tartet and Walmart. If you think you need a little lifting and firming Garnier is offering a $2.00 coupon for their new Ultra Lift Pro Gravity Defying cream, just run your mouse over the lower center section and it will show the whole line, the coupon is the bottom link in the group or you can wait for it to come around on their splash page.

Finally comes the perfume, FragranceNet.com has tons of great designer scents at a fraction of the cost, they also have free shipping. If you use coupon code NAM48 you will get an additional 15% off your order. The other frequently used site is Perfume.com and they are offering a similar deal, enter coupon code LOVEMOM and you will get 20% off your order, they offer free shipping on orders over $50.00. I would recommend checking the price of what ever fragrance you like at both sites and seeing which will come out best for you.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend.
