Sunday's media madness...

Most of the folks I know are in the middle of this seasons The Biggest Loser series.  I am not a big fan, honestly, Jillian Michaels scare the C**P out of me!  I think she may actually have been a drill instructor in a prior life.  If you are interested in the show though why not take advantage of the game opportunities to lose some inches with the contestant?  There are two versions of the newest version of the game Biggest Loser Challenge, one for Wii and one for the Xbox Connect.

If you just want the game for Wii the lowest price was with Amazon for $27.99, because you would be over $25.00 you qualify for the free shipping.  If you would like to order the full bundle package with the game, Wii Fit Plus & Balance Board, Stability Ball and air pump and the Biggest Loser Pocket Cookbook that is also the lowest price at Amazon for $139.99

If you would like to work out with Jillian or Bob on your Xbox 360 then you need to look at the Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout your can find just the game at Amazon for $45.54, or if you have the 360 Kinect hooked up to your system there is the bundle which includes the Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout Video Game for XBOX 360 KINECT, Stability ball with pump, the Biggest Loser pocket journal/recipe book plus a FREE Biggest Loser Workout Music download.  This was available from Amazon for $49.99.

I hope you are all having a fun weekend!

Sunday's media madness...

I recently got back into Yoga and its nice to have soothing sounds and music to listen too, but it gets boring listening to the same track over and over.  I found a few really great buys at Amazon for Ambient music mixed with sounds of nature, these are great for Yoga, mediation or just getting a great nights sleep.

Heart of the Wind: Arctic Wind and Ambient Music

The first on is called Heart of the Wind: Arctic Wind and Ambient Music and is available on CD for $16.99, however if you down load it to your MP3 player the full CD, 59 minutes, is downloaded as one song for $0.99.

7: Music And Rain For Yoga, Meditation And Deep Sleep

Second is called Music And Rain For Yoga, Meditation And Deep Sleep, it is also available on CD for $8.98 but again, the full CD, 1 hour and 14 minutes, counts as one song when downloaded for $0.99.

Relaxation Ocean : Nature Sounds and Ambient Music for Deep Sleep

The last one is called Relaxation Ocean : Nature Sounds and Ambient Music for Deep Sleep and like the first two is available on CD for $8.98 but the full CD  of 35 minutes can be downloaded to your MP3 for just $0.99.

I hope you are all having a great weekend!

Sunday's media madness...

Did your New Year resolution involve getting in shape?  February 1 marks the release date for Rock Band Country Track Pack 2.  It is standalone software that lets you play the guitar, bass, drums or vocals on 21Country hits.  It can be played either as a single player or with friends, either working together or competing.  If you own any of the other Rock Band games you can merge your songs all together for a larger song list.  Country Track Pack 2 works with all the Rock Band games and most other Music game controllers.

Buy.com has the lowest price on the PlayStation 3, XBOX 360, and Wii versions, only $28.99 with free shipping and no tax.  Buy.com has also launched a new rewards loyalty program where you can earn Rakuten Super Points, which for someone like me is exciting news in itself.  The program seems to be similar to the Best Buy Reward Zone program with points redeemable for certificates good at the store.  That means that when I shop through Quick Rewards I will get 2.10% cash back from them, use my credit card earns reward points I will get those AND now I get the reward points from Buy.com.  I love triple dipping!

I hope you are all having a great weekend!

Happy New Year...

Well it a new year, full of promise and hope.  Mostly I am hoping I keepteh promises I made to myself.  I have two resolutions this year, fist to exercise more.  I have kept it simple so I stick to it, Monday and Thursday is Yoga, Tuesday and Friday is at least a half hour on my stationary bike while listening to a book on CD, Wednesday and Saturday is arm exercises with my little weights and Sunday is the dreaded sit ups.  That pretty much covers all areas, arms legs and core, so baring any health issues this year I should be able to keep that going.

My second goal for the year is to make time to read more.  I love to read but I seem to always put it off for "later" which has resulted in an overflowing library and a Kindle that is about ready to burst at its seams.  To help push this goal along I have joined the Mystery and Suspense Challenge 2011 over at the Book Chick City blog.  I have added the button at the side of my page as well so you can find it easily later.  If you would like to join the challenge just hop over to her page and check out how to sign up.  The goal of the Challenge is to read 12 book throughout the year in the Mystery/Suspense category.  You do not have to have a blog to join the challenge, plus, you can register to win a copy of The Survivor by Sean Slater from Simon and Schuster UK.  My first book for the challenge will be Deadly Reunion by Ron Handberg.  My mom went to school with the author and I have read all his books.  He is a wonderful, although not prolific, writer.  This book is the fifth book in his News Room series and takes place in Minneapolis, something I enjoy because its always nice to be able to picture where the characters are at any given time.  I will write more about this book and the series in Thursdays Media Madness, but you can always check it out for yourself at Amazon

Both of the resolutions will cost me nothing more than I have already spent which is an added bonus.  All the exercise stuff I already have, the stationary bike was moms, the hand weights I got last year at Target for an incredible price of $2.00 and the Yoga DVD I found on eBay for under $10.00, the matching book a friend gave me and the mat I have had for over 10 years (how's that for good intentions?).  As for all the books, I will admit that they are my weakness, OK, them and paper for scrap booking, but almost everyone was purchased on sale, in a thrift store, with a coupon or as a BOGO item so I do try to keep it in line.

What are your New Years resolutions?  I sure would love to hear them and also, did you keep last years promises?  I know I didn't but I had some health issues to deal with that made it hard, this year I honestly think I can stay on track.

It's 2011, have a fantastic first day!
